How does BIG Real Estate really work?
Most BIG REAL ESTATE agents work from their homes in their virtual office.
In fact, they never have to go to the main office if they don’t want to. Earnest money can be sent via overnight mail, and commission checks are cut within 24 hours. It's smarter, faster and much more efficient.

What other costs are involved?
Agents are responsible for signs, sign installation, business cards, MLS fees, advertising and all other expenses.

How do I get billed?
You will receive a monthly statement detailing your BIG Real Estate expenditures which are charged to your credit card. The only items on the bill will be MLS-related fees and company expenses. All other bills should be sent directly to your home address.

Do I have to be a member of a real estate board to join BIG Real Estate?
Yes. As a full-service real estate company, we belong to several boards throughout Minnesota.

What is the fee to transfer my license?
The commerce department charges $20 to transfer your license. All license applications are brought to the commerce department by our broker, so there are no processing delays. Agents are typically able to perform real estate duties within 3 days of when the application is submitted!

How will I get paid?
Agents either bring or send a sales report to the main office. If a complete file is submitted before 2:00 p.m., checks are cut and sent within 24 hours.

Who sets the commission structure?
You do! All commissions are subject to negotiation and are established between agent and client. Agents have the flexibility to charge whatever is necessary to make the transaction successful for all parties.

Can I get forms and contracts online?
Yes. Our website has the majority of required forms available for downloading. These forms are accessible with a login code and can be easily printed.

How do I get business cards and signs?
We have a list of suppliers and their contact information and order forms.

How is Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance handled?
We have a $1,000,000 E&O policy. The premium for the policy is paid through the $249 administrative fee that is charged to your clients—a fee that will be added to the transaction whether you bill your client or not.

How do I get earnest money to the main office?
Earnest money must be received in our office within two business days of acceptance. If you are unable to physically bring it to the office, you must use an overnight mail service. Please send a copy of your mail receipt with the contract.

What is the administrative fee for?
We charge a $249 administrative fee to both buyers and sellers. It is used to pay for space for government-mandated storage of files, and to ensure compliance of all files with governing laws and statutes.

How do I sign-up?
Please call to set up an appointment with us. We want to have personal relationships with all our agents, so it's necessary that we meet before we transfer your license. We will transfer your license as quickly as possible, so there is minimal lag in productive time.
